Know when someone files a name like yours

Every week we go through the new Australian trade mark filings. If one looks or sounds like yours, we email you. A person reads every alert before it goes out.

Once a filing is advertised, you have 2 months to oppose it. We check new filings every week, the day after IP Australia publishes them, so you hear about it early.

How it works

  1. Tell us your mark

Your brand name or slogan, and the classes it covers. That's all we need.

  2. We check every week

Each new Australian filing with words in it gets compared with yours on spelling, sound and shared words.

  3. You get an email

It's read and approved by a person first, then it lands in your inbox.

What an alert looks like

The filing's details and the date the opposition window closes. We don't tell you what to do about it.

New filing close to NORVIX

On 14 March, Norvyx Technologies Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000, Newstead QLD) filed NORVYX in class 9, the same class as your mark. Application 1234567.

The filing differs from your mark by one letter, and the two names sound the same said out loud. It was advertised on 20 March, so the window to oppose it closes on 20 May 2026. IP Australia’s record has the final date.

Questions

What is a trade mark watch?

It’s a weekly check of new filings for names close to yours. Nobody tells you when a similar name is filed, so without one you’d be searching the register yourself.

Why does timing matter?

Once a filing is advertised, there’s a two-month window in which it can be opposed. Checking weekly means you hear about it with as much of that window left as possible.

Is this legal advice?

No. We tell you what was filed and how it resembles your mark, and every alert ends with the line “This is information only, not legal advice.”

What can I watch?

Brand names and slogans. It’s the words themselves we watch, so you enter your mark as text.

How do I cancel?

Cancel from your account page, or email us. Your watch keeps running until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
